Description

Equine Assisted Occupational Therapy (EAOT) is an online professional course designed to strengthen your understanding of occupational therapy principles within Equine Assisted Services (EAS). Whether you are already working in EAS or want to better understand how OT frameworks support sensory processing, functional skills, participation, and everyday independence, this course offers practical and clinically relevant insight to enrich your EAS sessions.

Delivered fully online with 10 lessons and lifetime access, you can study at your own pace and return to the material whenever you need. You’ll explore core OT values adapted to the equine environment, child and adult skill development, sensory processing in EAS, client-centred goal setting, and practical strategies for supporting clients with physical, sensory, cognitive, or emotional challenges. The course also includes essential topics such as precautions, risks, indications and contraindications, safety in the equine environment, securing clients, and correct mounting procedures to support safe and professional practice.

Automatic subtitles in your preferred language are available on video lessons, and written materials can be translated directly in your browser. After completion, you’ll receive a certificate of attendance, ongoing email support, and access to a supportive Facebook community group where you can connect with other EAS practitioners worldwide.

Price: €320 EUR.

This course is ideal for therapists, instructors, assistants, and EAS practitioners who wish to integrate OT-based thinking into their sessions, enhance their clinical reasoning, better understand client needs, and recognise when referral to an occupational therapist is appropriate. Please note: the course does not qualify you as an occupational therapist or to practise EAOT independently, but it will significantly strengthen the quality, safety, and effectiveness of your Equine Assisted Services.
